#MeetCapitol – Capitol Records' Instameet

With the excitement of Worldwide Instameet 13 in the air, I couldn't have been more excited to help Capitol Records host their first ever Instameet! They asked me to come up with 20 of my favorite photographers from Los Angeles and bring them together for one incredibly memorable night at the historic tower in Hollywood.

Alongside my amazing co-host Skylar, I came up with the perfect list of talented friends from all over LA to help me celebrate music, new friendships and community. It really was a night for the books, and one I'll never forget.

The evening kicked off with a bit of silliness and setup, and a few pink frosting + sprinkle covered treats from our friends at Dunkin' Donuts (I swear I only had 3). We prepared goody bags for each of our guests stuffed with vinyl records, t-shirts, juice from Pressed Juicery, confetti and of course bubbles! They had no idea what we had in store for them, and I couldn't wait to see their faces!

Along with a tour of the tower, breathing the same air as some of the world's most legendary artists, we were able to surprise everyone with two very special performances! Capitol recording artists Sebastian Kole and New Zealand Duo Broods mingled and graciously posed for photos. We were even treated to a emotional moment from Sebastian when he covered 'Purple Rain' by Prince. I don't think there was a dry eye in the group.

Just when everyone thought it couldn't get any better, we had one last stop on the tour that people rarely get to experience – the Capitol Records rooftop! With 360 degree views from Hollywood to the Pacific Ocean, the lookout is truly breathtaking. And we were just in time for sunset!

Saying goodbye to everyone I couldn't help but feel inspired and blessed from the connections I've made in this community. Everyone came with an open mind and an incredible attitude – and ready to be creative! Capitol's first ever Instameet was definitely a success and I'm already dreaming of the next.
